K. I've been highly depressed lately and have been slacking. I was sleeved on jan 14th. I haven't lost in 3 weeks. I was doing so well then got depressed and just been "tasting" way too much. I also work at Starbucks and got my coffee addiction back. Has anyone gone/going through this? If so what have/are you doing to get back on track? Thanks

I haven't gone through this surgery yet, but I've been through the same behavior when dieting before. First things first - forgive yourself. You're human, you lost track for a short time. Now, it's time to get back to basics. Plan your meals AND Snacks in advance. Take what you're allowed to eat with you to work. It's a lot easier to stay on track if you don't have to think about it too much when temptation strikes.

With regard to your coffee addiction, is it just the coffee, or are you drinking full-fat, full sugar caramel macchiatos all day long? If it's just the coffee, it's not so bad if you're tolerating it - a lot of people are drinking coffee after surgery, and my diet doesn't preclude it at all except during the 3 days of clears. However, you want to steer clear of all the sugar and fat in the mixed drinks. Maybe consider a Decaf with a shot of SF vanilla and a splash of skim if that would calm your desire for coffee?

I allow coffee in my regular diet but I do account for anything with calories I put into it. If I drink 200 calories worth of Creamer thats 200 calories I don't eat. Be careful with that, because coffee additions alone can be enough to halt weight loss if you are not paying attention.

Three weeks isn't a crazy long period of time, so you should be able to get back in the saddle without too much upheaval. Hell, right after surgery I had a three week-long stall. We were sleeved about the same time. You'll get there, just put a stop to this before it goes too far.

Fear not! Stalls are a normal part of any weight loss journey. The two previous posts have great advice but I would add, try to spend some time with your feelings. Why are you feeling down? Is it just the weight loss stalling or is something else going on that's "feeding" into it. Depression is a common issue for many of us who have and are struggling with weight and when I'm feeling down I always have used food as a source of comfort. The only difference now is that I can't do the same level of damage I did before I was sleeved. Lastly, look for some NSV's like your cloths being too big, measurements getting smaller, easier movement, etc. to gauge your progress. You are in the midst of a huge life change and it's really only the beginning. Love yourself for your courage and determination!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
