Just joining in... banded march/2004. Unfilled May 2006. Had many issues... looking for some answers...

Evrytime i had a fill i would vomit for 3 days straight and my Dr. would have to unfill me. I took nexium for a month before i tried my last fill with exactly the same results. unfilled after 2 days. Im wondering if this is common, if there is something to be done, i have gained back 23lbs and am worried tha ti'll keep going up!:help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help:

Welcom Manzanyta

Great to see you here at LBT...I was banded october 05. the only time i vomited mucus was my second fill when my dr put in 4cc at once (I only have a 4cc band)...I couldn't even keep Water down and felt like I was going to die...turns out it was just his inexperience...he saw me after hours to take some out which helped a lot...so far no more issues.

:o

Hello, Manzanyta, and welcome. I'm sorry to hear of your troubles. Did you lose much weight despite this?

You might want to post on the "problems" threads and see if anyone has ideas or input.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
