Attended the seminar last night

Recommended Posts

The seminar just went over everything in the booklets. But I did like that one of Dr Meyer's patients was there and she stood up and told us her story, showed us before-pics and even lifted up her shirt to show us her scars and where her port is. She got emotional and lots of the girls there (including me :o ) had tears in their eyes listening to her and how the band has changed her life. They also had a nutrionalist and a psychologist there who had a few things to say. I was happy to hear that they have weekly support meetings with fellow bandsters.

:D

Just have to wait on my insurance to let me know what to expect financially.

Congratulations on taking the first step!!! It does lend a sense of reality to it all!

Losing weight, and even plateaus take on new meaning when the weight does not come back! The reigning in of the hunger monster was the epitome of success to me. I too could get very emotional over it!

I wish they had a support group where I live, but they don't the closest is held monthly and is almost 200 miles away. In the summer months I may try to attend a meeting, but with winter weather here to stay awhile, I won't even try.

We are glad you are joining us here at LBT---if you have any questions, feel free to ask away. This is an awesome place for support!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
