I don't hate cottage cheese!

Recommended Posts

I haven't had cottage cheese in years and I did not remember it fondly... But in the interest of quality Protein and much needed Fiber I bought Fiber One cottage cheese to try.

I liked it. Would it be good with some salsa added do you think?

Fiber one makes cottage cheese!? Is it fibery?

I don't think I'd love it w salsa. My mom used to make it with applesauce. I like it with pineapple (cold). Some put pepper.

That does not sound appetizing. Sliced garden tomatoes and a sprinkle of black pepper sure sounds yummy though!

I too tried cottage cheese for the first time in many many years and I think I like it. It's kinda plain tho, interested in trying it with things that are savory. Not interested in sweets with it.

My 20 day preop consisted of cottage cheese and Protein Drinks. I loved cottage cheese but I think if I so much as looked at it now I would hurl lol. You name it I tried it to change/help with the taste. Mrs dash isn't bad regular or southwest, dry hidden valley ranch (very little) was ok, but I liked a bit of Campbell's Tomato Soup mixed it. Traditionally I've always doused it in black pepper just like my dad lol :)

I'm pre-op & I eat cottage cheese now & love it. I sometimes have it for Breakfast with a teaspoon of sugar free jam mixed in. I've also had some halved green grapes in it or pineapple or applesauce.

Since I'm Type 2 diabetic, I can't eat a regular plate of Pasta, so I've taken about 2 oz of angel hair or spaghetti with marinara & mixed in a couple heaping tablespoons of cottage cheese (sorta like a lasagna) to help fill me up without eating too many carbs. It's been good all the ways I've tried it so far.

Someone was talking about blending it with canned pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. Maybe some Splenda or honey added too. ?? The texture gets to me (unsleeved) I'm hoping I get over that.

Adding pumpkin sounds yummy.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
