Is there a difference in proteins?

Recommended Posts

I know there are several different ways of getting Protein, but with the powders is there really any difference between pea, whey, soy or hemp? I live in a little town that doesn't have very much for health stores and they have a mixture of those 4 Proteins so I'm wondering if ones better than the others & why? I had surgery on 2/19 & have been having issues getting my protein in & am looking for so different options Any help you can give would be great. Thanks in advance for your info :}

There is a thread on here called "Not all proteins are equal" from O.T. R. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/49499-always-check-the-ingredients-all-proteins-are-not-equal/page__hl__%2Bnot+%2Ball+%2Bproteins+%2Bare+%2Bequal, it gets into types of whey Protein, ones that are a good source of Protein and ones that are not.

Good luck!

When we started our post surgical diets we were told to only use supplements that were either whey Protein isolate or soy protein isolate. The NUT said that the reason for this is that they included all the essential amino acids that we would require to build protein. They wanted it to be the first ingredient on the list under the nutritional information. They also wanted us keeping an eye on the sugar and fat.

This is exactly what I was going to say!

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
