I don't know...

Thank God for this support group. I think I have all sorts of problems but they seem pretty common. Gas pains set in today (5 days post op).....I am so scared i'm going to hurt my insides. I am still pretty tired. I so badly want a quad americano from starbucks.

So....my surgery was 4/4.....I bled and had to have a transfusion. I was in the hospital for 4 days total. They did a million dollar mark up on me...checked for EVERYTHING....my post op is Thursday. SInce I have been discharged I have diarrhea, the roof of my mouth is killing me, and I am sooooo tired. I have not taken rx meds since Sunday. I am taking this week off from work. I am a very educated person, and a pretty articulate writer, but rereading this, it sounds like a kindergartner wrote it.....that sums it up...I feel like i'm all out of sorts. Foggy. Can anybody relate?

On a positive note....I'm down 20lbs (including weight loss from my pre op diet)

Congratulations on your surgery and I'm glad you are doing as well as you are. You had major surgery and a complication to boot, give yourself a break and time to heal. Walking should help with the gas discomfort, and I found a heating pad was very helpful. It is great you haven't had to take the pain meds since Sunday, that will definitely help get you back to your old self quicker. Are you able to get in your Water and Protein?

You are doing great! The first 2 weeks are just, hell to put it simply. Drink Water, get as much sleep as you can, and walk around. It gets better, it really does and by the end of 3 weeks you will be feeling almost back to normal again. Hang in there sweets, you are doing great!!

The first few days and weeks are the hardest. It does get easier. I can remember one day about a week post op I was so weak and foggy that I didn't think I was going to make it. I think I was probably dehydrated, and you just can't support 300 pounds on 300 calories a day! I was tired for the first 6 weeks, but I had an infection, so I'm sure that made it worse. I also had diarrhea for the first 4 weeks, and just felt pretty rough all the way around. Now at almost 4 months out, I'm feeling pretty good! You will too!

I hope this is not the only week that you have off! Sounds like you are going to need some more time at home to rest. Now is the time to invest in yourself.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
