Help! I'm feeling out of control--

Recommended Posts

Hi there I'm new on this site but so glad I found it. I am a Texan as well and live 20 miles east of Dallas across the lake in Rockwall. Iam 17 months out started my journey at 313.5 and got down to 216 almost a 100 pound loss. While I have been happy with my sleeve. I am starting to feel like my old fat self again. I'm at a stall which I am sure is based on my lack of excercise, and watching my calories like I use too. I am up to 219 and scared to death I'm headed the wrong way. Just wonder if there is anyone out there that like me is starting to feel out of control again? Hates hates hates to count calories and diet, and who does not get a lot of excercise. Are you loosing or stopped? Would love some feedback--

I'm only 6 months out and my losing has ground to a halt, with the exception of a very few lbs a month at this point. I was excercising a lot in the beginning but quit when it was cold and dark outside by the time I got off of work. I'm hoping that the spring weather will provide some incentive. I posted a similar thread last week about my fears regarding the end of weight loss and later regain

Hello!! I am 20 months post op. Found myself up 7-8 pounds after the Holidays this year. I was feeling out of control and scared I was going to end up gaining my weight back. But I didn't!!!! I am happy to report I am back to my low weight. (it only took 2 months) I took a very moderate approach. I cut back cals back 100-200 (that's like a yogurt and a extra 2 bites at lunch for me!) a day and started burning an average of 300 more a day. That puts you at losing a pound a week. Its not drastic but it works! Try to build extra lean muscle but lifting weights.... you burn more calories naturally! Take charge. I had to.... I couldn't go back- use that as your motivation. You can do this!!!

I'm 18 months out and I have a fluctuation of about 4 lbs..... Couple of days ago I was at a 1 lb fluctuation and today, I'm at my 4 lb fluctuation. It does scare the cr** out of me too. This is the time that I get back to eating basics of Proteins first. Over the weekend I ate junk and had some bread. So I contribute the little I ate as the culprit....I have to tell myself that I need to eat healthy foods. I have to set boundaries with family members about bringing in the cr** too. I am a food addict so I have to stay focused on healthy eating habits. I am really bad about exercise too. I will find an excuse to not and that makes me sad.. :( But I know that I can and will get back on track today. You are not done losing weight, so get back on track and focus on the goal..... Yep you can do this........ :)

Trip2thin- I am right there with you. I lost 143 then fell into bad habits and gained 24. After gaining, I swear I felt like 300 pounds all over again. It's sickening and frustrating. I am trying getting back on track. Taking a mindful eating class next week, signed up for a dance class and already down 7 pounds. We are food addicts plain and simple. It will always be a battle. Good luck to you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
