Im 9 days post op was feeling good until I got in a argument with someone over how much they spent on proten shakes. Now the side were my stiches are on the right hurts terribly. There is no leakage just a pulling sensation when I stand up. Ive been off my pain meds for a week. Might have to continue them. Has anyone else experienced this?

Could be they're being stretched and this is normal process as things adjust. Always check with your doc if you continue to have issues

This is funny because this is happening to me right now too. I am 13 days post op and was doing wonderful, no pain...until I lifted a heavy box that I shouldn't have at work and now, right by my largest incision on my right side it hurts soooooo bad. I know I shouldn't of lifted it, but I forgot because I was feeling so good. After I moved it I immediatly thought to myself crap! I shouldn't of done that! When I'm sitting it's okay, but getting up or sitting down or walking is painful. I took a tylenol, so hopefully that helps. I hope yours feels better soon!

This has just happened to me, too. My surgeon said it is most likely nerve pain and prescribed a medication to help with nerve pain called Gabapentin. I was sleeved 16 days ago and it just started hurting/burning sensation yesterday.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
