My doctor gave me nuva ring last Saturday. I have no idea how to insert it. This is very awkward. She told ,e to tell my bf to do it for me. It's been sitting there all week though.

I actually watched a girl talk about (not really show) how to do it. I still find it slightly awkward. I twist it into a figure 8. But still weird.

Nuvaring is my choice of BC. I have had no issues before or after my sleeve surg with weight gain... I do have an issue with a decrease in my sexual drive.. So that SUCKS. But, I can't have babies right now, so we have to work thru that issue.

I haven't had the sleeve yet, but I am on my second Mirena. LOVE it! Didn't really notice much weight gain from that.

I've been using the NuvaRing for years and I love it. Never noticed any weight gain. I do love that its made my flow VERY light and only a few days(usually less than 4). Total bonus for me. Talk to your Lady Dr. about all your options, but I love it.

Im interested in more info on the nuvaring and sleeve patients. I've done terrible with pills in the past because I don't remember to take them... The patch was my favorite but being overweight took that luxury away and now my Gyn doesn't like Patches. I've gone through 2 Mirenas but my body has rejected them. Now im running out of options and really considering the nuvaring before returning to pills but with the cycle I've had post op' date=' I have to get something soon![/quote']

I love the Nuva Ring, I've been on it for five years....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
