After tossing the idea back and forth for the last few years I finally got my sleeve in December 2012. I went thought weight loss forever a Canadian company out of Saskatoon and the surgery was preformed by dr. Pompa at LIMARP in TJ, Mexico. I had a fabulous experience, no post op complications, and at almost 4 months out I have lost 67 lbs and over 40 inches. I don't remember the last time I felt this great!! My weight loss has slowed down and psychologically I am struggling with that a bit, but I am trying to take things one day at a time and be patient :)

I just found this forum so I look forward to sharingy experiences as well as reading about your experiences. I find that support is an extremely powerful tool that I try and use on a daily basis.

I had my surgery at LIMARP with Dr Pompa on March 12th and also had an excellent experience! How much weight have you lost? Have you had any troubles?

So far I have had an amazing journey. I am down 75lbs and I have never been so active in my life. N complications to date. I did take a PPI for the heart burn and I have 3 in my RX and then I will stop to see if I still require it or not. I find the psychological side of getting the sleeve the most difficult but I am slowly working my way through it. Best of luck in your journey :)

I guess reality set in when I had to buy new scrubs.. people are like dang you need new scrubs.. those are like hanging on you and look like a dress.. so off this last weekend to buy scrubs..and yes I went straight for the size I thought I was.. and my hubby is like.. not those.. im like yeah thats the size..he is like no its not.. try these.. an XL.. im like no way I cant fit into those.. and he is like try a L.. im like I dont think so. he is like try them on at atleast.. ok I said but you will see.. boy was I in for a shocker.. the XL were slightly big and the L were perfect.. Im like WTF is going on.. Im not that small.. he is like yes you are.. I just have a hard time seeing myself that way.. but everyone is calling me skinny minny and hey skinny looking good.. so I dont know.. I have a shape now and its not round anymore.. still so shocking.. but its been a great journey so far.. yes my weight loss has slowed a bit.. but thats ok.. I will get there.. its only been 3.5 months and im down 80lbs.. what more could I ask for? lol another 60lb please.. I go to the gym now too.. so good things for everyone having the sleeve..no complications for me either.. so onward with our journeys and new life of shopping in a whole new dept..and I went to the mall and I was like.. wow I can shop at that store now!!!! best of luck to all .

Thanks for the positive remarks as my surgery date is only a few weeks away and the nerves are really starting to kick in.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
