Well they just did a barium swallow and didn't find a leak. They are discharging me. I'm hoping its just an isolated incident! I was sure glad to hear they didn't find a leak or a blood clot though! Trip to Arizona is still on for now. That's great news because I wasn't looking forward to telling my 8 and 10 year old girls that daddy ruined spring break.

Glad all is good. Just take it easy. And very proud of you for taking precautions by going to the hospital. Better safe than sorry.

Hey if your driving to the canyon be sure to stop at least ever one to two hours get out and walk for a few minutes then go again. Be safe!!

We're flying to Phoenix and then driving from there. Thanks for the reminder though. It's about a 4 hour drive so we'll be sure to make a few stops.

I thought dumping syndrome was only with bypass surgery. One of the reasons I chose the sleeve was to avoid dumping syndrome.

Thoughts?

Have a wonderful trip. I am glad it turned out to be nothing.

I spent the morning in the ER too.

I get the heart racing thing once in a while since surgery. I did read something about reactive hypoglycemia that might be my cause. It's supposed to be more common in those that have stomach surgery, especially weight loss surgery. It would make sense since the heart rate increase is usually a little while after I eat and causes many of the symptoms mention here.

Have fun! I live in Prescott, were about halfway between Phx and the Grand Canyon. We've been having beautiful weather! :) glad you are ok!

I saw that the weather is fantastic right now. We're looking forward to getting some Vitamin D that isn't in a pill form! We're flying out tonight and staying overnight in Phoenix and then driving tomorrow. Anywhere we should stop along the way to see some great scenery?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
