Recommended Posts

Hello,

Currently being over weight I sweat like crazy. This is so uncomfortable especially in the summer. Can anyone tell me do they notice after having the Vsg surgery do they sweat as much ?

Thanks

Josie

No as a matter of fact most of us are freezing afterwards, it's awesome!!!

The ghrelin hormone in your stomach plays a small part in body temp regulation, so I've read.

May be one of the reasons...

This is the first time in oh...FOREVER that I am not sorry to see winter go! I am freaking freezing all the time. I sit with an electric throw and crawl in to a warm electric blanket.

It sure didn't see that coming! But Come on summer!

My husband laughs at me all the time now because I have always been so "hot natured" griping if anyone said they were cold.... Now I wear fleece pajamas and socks around the house complaining abou how cold it is and I have to crawl in to a warm bed with my electric blanket (which I never would have tolerated before)! He thinks it is hilarious and now I regret all those mean things I said about people freezing and how they could put on more clothes if they just would. Sometimes, I can't get enough layers to stay warm! It is rather funny!

I had to laugh a little when I read your post as I am FREEZING all the time now. I even carry a sweat shirt in the summer now for when I get chilled. I dress in layers and as soon as I get to warm I take off a layer but in an hours time I putting the layer back on.

For me it's awesome to be cold.. I was always overly hot and sweating when I gained the weight, even in winter :( after the surgery I went and bought the most luxurious cashmere cardigan. I love that thing it feels so nice to wear layers and feel good. just yesterday I was running around all day and at the end of the day I was still wearing it! on a semi warm California day!

Happy!

I try to take it as a positive - getting cold easily. It's only my hands and feet at the moment - still too much "insulation" on my stomach and thighs. I am looking forward to shivering like a Chihuahua on too much caffeine! B)

Someone I know was told by a doctor that people who lose a great deal of weight often get cold easily because all the blood vessels that used to feed their larger self are close to the surface, no longer buried in layers of fat, so our blood cools more quickly.

I used to break out in a sweat when I peeled an orange. Now I am down 110 lbs. I am below my goal weight and cold all the time

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
