Is dehydration worse now than preop? I've been sick because I've had to restart victoza. I am eating bad and not drinking well... I drink all day, but the queasiness prevents me from drinking enough and if i take the medicine for the upset stomach I sleep way too much to drink. I am getting about 30-40 oz a day. Also, can I count the Water I mix my Protein Drinks with as water drank? I am not doing great on Protein, but I am getting some. The week before I had a terrible uti and ran a high fever and vomiting... Been a rough two weeks. I've eaten too many carbs, because that's all I felt I could eat... Crackers and toast, etc..

You can count Water mixed with Protein. You might want to regroup after the bed 2 weeks and get right back at it. Low carbs-just like the NUT says. If not then all this will have been for nothing. Start back on Clear Liquids if you have to but start over and you'll get back on track.

I was told that Water with the Protein does not count as part of the amount of liquids your supposed to take daily.

Whats Victoza?

I'm 6 days post op and I am so confused with Protein and amount of Water , etc

I went into GNC and the girl that was helping me thank goodness she had the bypass done years ago and showed me what she used. Its called GNC total Lean shake. It has 25 grams of protein.

And i sip on water all day and my pee still comes out dark. I'm calling my doctors office later on to ask for some tips.

I hope you feel better!

Eat what you can until you feel better. Once your better get back on track but call your doc for advice. Good Luck!

I struggled to get in all the fluids the first few weeks. my surgeon said count all fluids going into your body which includes Protein Shakes. I actually set a timer for every 15 min. to get in all the fluids. That might sound extreme but it honestly got me through the hardest part. Best Wishes

Victoza is an injectable used to treat diabetes... When I originally started it, it took a while together adjusted to it too... Really make one queasy

Do you have other medication for nausea? My doc gave me the Patches to put behind my ear. You change it every 3 days. Works very well. I also have Zofran liquid, another anti nausea medicine. I had surgery on March 12th and I'm still using these meds to combat nausea.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
