I take humira.. I've tried enbrel too. Doc wants me to do remicaid, but even with my insurance it would be about $1000 per treatment for me... I can't do that. Rheumatologist tells me mobic or other nsaids will slow progression of disease. My upper spine and neck have already fused and I can't stand up straight... I fear further progression.

Have you tried Remicare? If you go to the remicade website, they off a discount to people who need remicade. It's like $50/infusion, depending on if you have a deductible. My rheumy wanted me to take remicade but the first couple infusions are like $200 then it goes down to $50 so I said I would wait and keep taking my enbrel until I become a nurse...

I have Crohns Disease and take Humira. I was on Remicade before but with insurance changes Humira is much cheaper for me. Centocor (maker of Remicade) have many programs available to help financially. All of the biologic agents do. Just get with your MD and they can give you the contact packet. My ins copay for humira is $150 but with the co pay assist card I pay $5 per month. Not too bad and I get my quality of life back.

Only 50 an infusion? That is 10x cheaper for when We paid 500 an infusion. Awesome !!! Thanks goodness my current employer has benefits that has a 0 payment / infusion. It does cost us a higher paycheck premium though, but totally worth it because WLS was only 200 total for me. Insurance covered everything else. Yay! My wife gets the infusion every 6 weeks and it is a game changer for her. I am glad we no longer pay 500 / 6 weeks any longer and her pain free life is worth it!!!

Don't get too excited! Most insurances bill this as a procedure and that program won't apply. I asked the infusion nurse about assistance from the company and very very few qualify and it's only for a few months! Then you're right back to paying 20% or whatever your insurance requires!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
