two years out...stalled need help!!! please read!!

Me too! I am generally very pleased and only have about 20 more pounds to go, but just can't vseem to get there. I too can't get past the night coughs. I guess I need to just bump up the exercising cause the night coughs are killing me (and my partner).

Best of Luck!

The "night coughs" are a sign of reflux. Make sure you aren't over-filled. And don't eat after 8 PM. Also, try some Nexium or OTC product for heartburn just before you go to bed.

I think this seems to be an issue for a lot of us. During my first year of being banded, I was filled, unfilled over and over again and everytime they filled me over the 2.0 level - I would develop acid reflux. Finally I said that's it, lets just leave my fill at 1.9 and see how I do. Have not had any reflux problems since. However, my weight has remained the same for the past 4 months. I notice that if I eat strictly Protein first....I can feel my band working and restricting the amount I can eat; but I find I can eat a lot of stuff other than protein that is not so healthy and eat a lot of it w/o my band saying stop. So I think we just get to a point where we are going to have to use a little will power with our food choices and then the band will work for us. I can eat candy, chips, etc and never get stopped by the band...........so if I want to lose this last 20 lbs.....its going to require a little more effort on my part, more exercise and better food choices.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
