Hello there I'm new

Recommended Posts

We have a secret code name for my Lap Band procedure in my house and it is called The Dance or Lap Dance. That is why I chose LAP DANCER for a name.

I have my appt. with my surgeon on Monday. We will set a date at that time. I have completed all the required things and am simply waiting to have it done.

Nice to be here and I look forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome to the board. I've had my band one year and I'm thrilled with the results. I hope that you will have much success along your journey as well. Good luck!

To Yvonne: Best to you on Monday. Do let us know how you are doing, feeling.... I'm so excited for you.

To Grace: The secret code name ended up being a funny thing. Thanks for agreeing with me. I think that code is better than something like "and the rooster crows at midnight" you know? (laughing)

Dolphin Dreams: You must be by the ocean! I love your name.

Fitz: Thank you for the warm welcome.

Hi all,

I am also having my surgery on Monday. The nerves are beginning to kick in. I am feeling very restless but don't want to do anything. I need support to get me through the week end.

It does feel like a community Charles. Thanks so much.

CarMVitzHi all,

I am also having my surgery on Monday. The nerves are beginning to kick in. I am feeling very restless but don't want to do anything. I need support to get me through the week end.

Monday is a special day for me too. Best of luck to you CarMVitz. I'll be thinking of those who have gone before me. Maybe what you are feeling isn't so much nerves kicking in but the adreneline of EXCITEMENT of what is yet to be!

My surgery is also on Monday 11/27, and yes, I am a bundle of nerves. Can't wait for it to be over.

I'm new here too. I think what is such a thrill for me is reading those posts where people say things like the above "my is Monday" and then you see them post back afterwards. HealthQuest I wish it were me on Monday. But I will bide my time. Soon enough. Sincerest wishes for a quick in and out. Be healthy!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
