For those of you that are post-op how do you prefer to journal your food intake? Is there an app you really like (I have an iphone) or do you prefer the old fashioned way (pen/paper)? I prefer to make lists on pen and paper, but I want a system that is convenient so I make sure to record everything which might be easier with an app since I always have my phone with me.

I am PRE-op but have been journaling for a quite a while now. I like MFP. Tracks my calories, carbs, fat, Protein and exercise (syncs with my Bodymedia fit).. saves my favorite meals and foods for quick input AND as a super added bonus, you can add friends there if you want for the extra support factor.

I use my fitness pal on my iPhone. It's a free app and you can customize it to your nutrition requirements.

I use an app on my iPhone called calorie count..

I'm a loner..most people here use my fitness pal though... and seem to love it... I just don't like the way it tells me I'm not eating enough and will go into starvation mode, duh! :P

I also use myfitness pal, I especially like the bar code scanner on the app as it makes it so much easier to log.

I noticed that a lot of people use myfitnesspal.

For me I actually prefer fitbit, I have a fitbit scale, a fitbit body movement tracker, and a fitbit app on my phone.

It seems to be pretty much the same thing as myfitnesspal but... I think the interface is a lot nicer / better! :P

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
