Anyone getting sleeved March 12?

Recommended Posts

I am getting excited but also really scared for my surgery 1 week from today... I have been on a Liquid/ small meal diet since last week and have already lost 8 lbs! Starving but on Thursday I start my protien sparing diet. That's when I will really be hungry! But I can do it! Dreaming of all the things I will be able I do this summer!

You'll do great! I am doing a protien sparing diet now. Started today 3oz of lean meat 3x a day and all the sf Jello and ice pops I want. Hungry, but its mostly head hunger I think. I wish that would go away. I hope it does... That's what I am really worried about after the surgery. Where are u being sleeved?

I am sure you are going to do fantastic as well. I am also worried about the head hunger, more than anything. My class said that goes away and not to think about it too much, but it is very much at the top of my list.

I am being sleeved, are you as well?

I am having a very hard time finding SF ice pops or SF freeze pops. I can find all natural, but there is still sugar in those bars.

I believe I am prepared for the start on saturday except for that. And from what i have read on the posts the ice pops are the most important to get you thru.

I hope you are having a great day!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
