Was able to shop at Gap! What?!

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery Dec. 27, 2012... Roughly 9 weeks post op..that's it?! As I write that it just hit me it hasn't been that long ago!

I have lost close to 50lbs! I don't notice it unless I weigh myself or my pants slide off..I've always hid in largely closes so baggy clothes don't bother me ????. I've had to get rid of some clothes which was hard! Idk why but I was holding on to them like a crutch!

Anyway, we have an event tomorrow....husband asks what are you going to wear...my reply was I haven't any idea-I'll figure something out. He needed to get pants so we went to the Gap...he pointed a dress and told me to try it on.. Reluctantly, I did...and boy am I happy I did!!! It fits and I will be wearing it tomorrow stripes and all!!! (Stripes have never been my friend! Until now ????)

I am in no way strictly able to shop at Gap..still get clothes at LB, AS, Avenue..but I can now entertain the possibility of shopping and getting some stuff there!!

Just wanted to share!

Thanks for the update. I at 9 weeks myself, but haven't lost as much as you. Could you list some of the things you do that you think help with such incredible weight loss? Diet, exercise, fighting with your husband? :o

I will be the first to admit I haven't been pounding the exercise as I should-I have bad knees so walking is my exercise right now... I drink my Water...I eat more protein-I prefer the bars vs shakes which my doc and NUT said it was ok though I do have shakes). I actually thought I was losing slow I have days where I stay the same weight... And yes I know you shouldn't weigh yourself every day but I'm not perfect so I still do it-LOL... They weighed me on this fancy scale thing at my last doc appointment and they knew how much weight was Water, muscle, fat.. And they said I'm going on right pattern....which I replied really??? Cause I thought I was going slow..I also had hernia and a band removal during my sleeve surgery and my stomach is still at times disagreeing with my food choices so I may have Soup when that happens..I'm really not sure what else I am doing....I think I am more conscious of what I eat and will turn down that cookie and eat almonds instead...

When is your next doctor appointment? Did you see the NUT?

I wore horozontal strips last week for the first time in a VERY long time... And I actually didn't think I looked half bad! LoL... I LOVE the Gap!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
