costco membership is definitely helpful to have when buying Protein foods. There are so many good choices and because most stuff is bulk' date=' it usually lasts for a good 2-3 weeks.[/quote']

Bjs is basically the same. I wonder if maybe costco just has more items our people can have.

Costco's great for their frozen salmon. Comes individually packaged, and one piece is two meals for me. The tilapia comes the same way . Great products

I buy the cooked shrimp platter. (I don't use the cocktail sauce.). Best shrimp around. And salmon w basil pesto butter. Also fresh. Back against the wall next to the meats. I rotate between the two. The salmon is 3 big pieces. I'll usually cook two and freeze the other one- butter and all. The two cooked ones lasts me for several days.

costco never uses frozen fish for their prepared meals and you can taste the difference.

I also but most of the frozen seafood- the basil lemon talapia is yummy. And the crab cakes! Yum.

Have to add from TJs their frozen palak paneer. Loved the stuff well before being sleeved, but even more so now. It was even great in the blender during puree stage

They also have nice cheeses and the yummiest adult chewable Multivitamins I've found.

We have Bjs, costco, and Sam's here in Connecticut. They're all warehouse clubs... Pay an annual fee, buy in bulk, etc. I've been ever really discerned much of a difference between them all. Bjs is just the most convenient to me.

Thanks for all the good seafood options!

Yes, I second the comment on adult chewable Vitamins from TJs. These Vitamins carried me through the first 6 months where most WLS vitamins made me throw up.

I bought some fresh wild cod at costco last weekend and ended up returning it because there was a (live!) parasite in the tray. I almost died.

Omg I'm glad you noticed it and didn't get sick!!!

So many new great ideas to add to the list!

I just had the costco salmon with herb butter at a party a couple of weeks ago and was blown away at how delish it was (I'm sure a lot of the flavor comes from the butter, but the salmon was very fresh and tasty). I never bought it before because it's such a large size, but the idea to freeze some is brilliant! Must get some on my next trip there! Great tip! :)

Oh, my fellow Costco-lovers:

I was there today and a couple of my fave products are on sale.

Currently costco has a special on the Pure Protein Protein Bars (18 ct variety pack; 6 chocolate Deluxe; 6 chocolate Peanut Butter; and 6 Chewy Chocolate Chip). The regular price is $17.49 and there is a $4.50 instant mfr's coupon off. I stocked up and bought 3 of them today, since they are our fave Protein Bars (20g Protein, 180-200 calories per bar). I prefer the Pure Protein bars to the Premier Protein bars, which, although they have more protein (30g vs. 20g) they are just too honkin big for my sleeve and I never finish them ... always get about 2/3 or 3/4 done and then can't stand the thought of another bite, so the rest always gets thrown out. I can always finish a Pure Protein Bar, though. It's just the right size for my sleeve.

Also, there's a sale on the Stacy's Pita chips (another of my fave costco buys). I believe it's a $2 or $2.50 mfr. instant coupon per bag (I think the regular price is $5.79 or something, so that's a big savings). I also stocked up on those. They have a pretty long shelf life.

I heart Costco!!!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
