Patience: n. A minor form of dispair, disguised as a virtue

Recommended Posts

Scheduled for May 3rd... this wait is going to be torturous which seems silly since it's been a couple of years in the making...

I'm filling my time with getting started with an exercise routine, though admittedly, I'm not doing as well as I should. Working up to it. I have hired a very handsome personal trainer (henceforth known as "Hottie Trainer") who kicks my booty once a week and I try to walk with my handsome hubby a couple times the rest of the week. Also filling some time working on passport applications right now and some new diet routines to carry through post op.

Who else is finding the wait unbearable (either scheduled or close to it)? What are you doing to pass the time?

Lol YES!! Definitely my current addiction and favorite way to pass the time. So glad I found this place. So much valuable first hand information. I used the information here to choose my surgeon and coordinator since I have to self-pay in Mexico and I am loving all the pre and post op advice on here... keeping both a pre op and post op journal with all the best tips!! I found myself bookmarking too many threads and posts! :)

Me! Waiting for insurance submission...my darn PCP is holding up (or the people in his office). It's looking like I'll be in April now instead of May.

I'm spending my time nesting, doing cardio to build up my lung capacity and spending lots of time with my babies.

Ohh yes, spending time with babies!! I'm doing a lot of that too!! :) I can't complain about that! What a great motivation we have to get healthy, huh?! How old are your babies Mama?! I have two girls that are exactly a year and a half apart! On May 20th they'll be 2 and 3 and a half!

I'm going to miss picking them up for 6 long weeks! My surgeon is very strict about lifting post-surgery. :( But I know it's for the best!

I have a boy and a girl, in May they will be 1 year and 3.5 years! They are totally my motivation for getting healthy. I want to be the best me I can be for myself, for my husband, and for my kiddos...and to keep up with them! :)

I know what you mean about not being able to pick them up! I had to have a hysterectomy back in September (long story short, I couldn't stop bleeding and it was the easiest answer since I couldn't have more kids anyway), and I had to go 6 very strict weeks then too, and it was awful!!! Especially with the 1 year old because she didn't understand!! At least with the 3 year old she understood that "Mommy has an owie!" What are you telling your 3 year old about your surgery? We decided not to explain it all to her obviously since she wont understand it quite yet. We're just telling her that I'm going "to the doctor" and then will say that I "have an owie." And when she gets older I will explain that I had WLS when she was younger.

We are telling her that the doctor is fixing my tummy to make it work like it should...trying to make it be something positive rather than telling her I'm sick or whatever. She's pretty matter of fact about it at this point and takes it all in stride. She's mostly excited her Nannie and beloved Auntie are coming to stay at her house for a couple of weeks. ;) Forget Mama!

That's pretty awesome!! Maybe that's another way I can kill time, explaining it to her! Hahaha maybe she would understand it more than I think she would. I like the idea of it not being an illness or injury in her eyes. :) I'll have to gauge it and see if she'd get it or not.

Anything to fill the time at this point!!! Hahahaha

After months of deep discussion trying to explain my weight struggles to my husband, who has always been naturally fit & athletic, we finally agreed that this was the best way for him to think of my surgery. So it's a good explanation for 3 year olds AND 40 year olds! LOL!

Found out tonight I have to push back to May 11th due to my husband's work schedule!!! I was impatient for May 3rd!!! Hahaha

I just have to remember that this has been years in the making (and really a decade of work) and I should be thankful that I have 10 weeks to be sure our passports will arrive without issue...

Whatever... I don't even buy the words coming out of my mouth lol

Ugh!!!!!!!!

I know, but oh well. I am just lucky to be at this point! But if his work schedule wasn't in the way, I would be scheduled for April 24th! Lol I told him, "I seriously just posted a thread about how I'm already impatient as it is!!!" Lol

I did tell him that if he makes me change the date again, I'm going without him!! Hahaha He said, "I think you mean it!" And I said, "the only thing I have ever said to you with more sincerity was our vows!!!!" hahahahahaha ;) I love that man like crazy, but I'll take my mother in a heartbeat! Lol

Are you any closer to getting your date Mama?! Still looking like April?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
