I feel absolutely horrible. What does dehydration feel like cause I think i'm there? I got nauseous in the middle of the night while sleeping. From What???? I have been on Protein shakes made with Water since Tuesday and just Water. Two more days then I can add broths and diluted juices, crystal light and Decaf teas.

But in the meantime what do I do? Everthing is a chore to do zapping what little energy I do have. I have so much to prepare before Tuesday, please advise.

Yesterday was my second day on my pre op clear liquid diet. All I wanted to do was stay in the bed. I live in the midwest and we go hit with a huge snow storm, so I couldnt go anywhere because my car was stuck. I took a nap hoping that would help, but when I woke up, I didnt want to get out the bed. I have a 5 and 7 year old, so they werent having that. Anyhow, I found that getting up and drinking some of my Protein Drink helped get a little energy. I mix mine with Almond milk or fat free milk, never water. Try making your Protein Drink with milk. Im lactose intolerant so I buy accordingly, and it allows me to get milk in without the reprocussions.

Surgeon's orders are with Water that is the only reason I'm doing so. I'm supposed to do 3-6 per day. The most I have gotten in were 4 and some Isopure.

I'm gonna keep pressing but do not want an ER bill before surgery. Just doesn't make sense.

Some carbs are still important so maybe use real milk 1% to mix your shakes... Or g2 for the extra few carbs and other nutrients. An extra quality pre mixed shake might help. The goal thenpreop is to drastically cut the carbs and for some, to lose weight so if you are doing that, your good to go... But you still need to be nourished enough to be able to walk into the hospital!

Hope you feel better soon. If you are getting at least 4 in, and the dr said between 3-6 that is good I would think. I hope your energy increases soon! Did the surgeon order a specific brand of shake? I am assuming he did. If so, it wouldnt hurt to call and ask him about other options. HUGs!

I agree. At this rate they will be rolling me in. I did drink some diluted juice. I figure that wouldn't hurt since I can have that on Monday anyway.

Susie, thanks for the hugs!

My shakes have been made with Syntrax nectar. They all have been tasty to say the least. I have some Pure Protein in there that I can't tolerate with Water or milk, but will check the carb content and see if that will help. I thought about buying the Body Fortress, but I don't know how it tastes. I don't want to tubs of Protein that I don't like just wasting.

And it's not 4 everyday. I know that I need to push more, but I'm getting to the place where I can't stand the smell. *horrible*

Only with Water? That sucks!

I use body fortress. Good stuff. Tastes better than a vanilla slim fast. I just bought another tub at Walmart.< /p>

Just be careful with juice. Cutting it with Water helps, but will still cause a sugar peak and when you crash youll be hungry so will work yourself into a viscious cycle. Ok in a pinch, but best go with gatorade, g2 and milk. My energy level got way too low so doc made these suggestions. Good luck... Feel better.

It's not as bad as you think. The nectar flavors can be made with milk or Water. I had Roadside Lemonade, Pink Grapefruit, Fuzzy Navel, Crystal Sky and strawberry Kiwi. So I think milk would not be a good choice for those flavors. LOL

I'll go get the Body Fortress because I don't want to force that Pure Protein down. No way! :)

I start my liquid diet Thursday. I've been nauseous and having diarrhea. I'm a nurse, but it makes no sense to me why it's happening. I'm hoping that maybe I just have a bug :((

I have not had any luck with Protein at all until I bought a bottle of raspberry Isopure and added some sugar free blue berry raspberry crystal light. Now I feel like I can actually make it through these last two days pre op and enjoy my protein.

Hello from Australia, I'm 3 days into my 2 week pre op liquid diet. Feeling very low in energy but I have also just worked two nights - I'm a nurse.

I have to have 3 Protein Drinks with Water only. Here in Australia you have to use Optifast and I really dislike it but I'm pushing through it. One post I saw a lady said she could eat her finger off. I think I'm at that stage! My surgery is on 3/08/13.

The only thing that made me feel better was to sleep more. I know not everyone can do that, but if you can catch a nap or get to bed early you should.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
