Does anyone find it easier to eat standing up

You are right it does go down better standing up. If I get stuck or almost stuck standing and walking makes it go down quicker.

My doctor told me if I had to stand up it was too tight. I like it that way but of course there is more risk for erosion, etc.

Good ole standing is a great way to eat! However, I try to improve my posture and sit up straight, when I sit. Gravity sure does help!

Yep, standing helps. It's like when you sit it pinches the band closed or something. I eat sitting most of the time but if it gets stuck I just stand or walk and if fixes itself.

Thanks all I am thinking it is a tad tight I have a 11cc band with 6 cc fill.....the walking helps when It feels stuck..or holding my head back so my neck is straight.....the thing is I have figued out what hurts is the ball of slime you get...not the food ...food never comes up ... just the slime.....If it continues to be I can stand to get it down without problems I may take a cc out at 4cc I could eat without problems...not like a sandwich or pizza but just a good dinner salmon veggies etc

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
