Hi,

My fellow november bandsters of 2006 have lost about 20lbs each...it seems after surgery...I have lost only 6lbs! What is wrong? I am doing full liquids and about 800 cals a day... :peep: :help:

I was banded October 18, 2006 and have only lost 11 lbs since surgery (one month today) I went to my support group yesterday and asked the same question...everyone says once you get your first fill, you will notice that you lose weight more quickly...good luck!:peep:

Having been here over a year now, I see this struggle creep up atleast once a week. HERE is the best thread and advice I've ever read regarding it - I can't offer any better information than what the wise and wonderful La_Madam did way back then.

you were banded 12 days ago? 6 lbs is good for 12 days. It is normal not to lose during the pre fill stage. Did your Dr. not tell you this? Any weight lost before your fills is a bonus, the first 6 weeks should be focused on healing not weight loss! The band was designed to be filled to work it's best, once you get your fills the weight loss will happen. One last piece of advice, DO NOT compare yourself to toher bandsters. It will drvie you crazy. We all are different with different bodies, metabolisms and such. Hang in there :peep:

I went through the same thing. I even gained before a fill! I am now down 30 lbs. You should only lose 1-2 lbs a week so you are right on track! Keep with it.

Gawd, me too! Banded on 10/20 and lost 11 pounds. I am on full liquids around 800 cals./day and I DON'T cheat. I wish it were faster, but it's 11 pounds less than before, so can't complain.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
