new bandster with a question

Recommended Posts

Well everything went well. I am tired and sore....and oh the gas pains are fun!!!! I am getting the reaching and picking up things. I do have help until next friday.....thank good ness for that! My baby finally took the bottle so I am at least not worrying she will starve to death because I am not ready to give up the narcotics....still hurting too much. My doc also had to fix a hiatal hernia...maybe that makes it worse...not sure.

Hi Dawnae,

I wish you well on your recovery. Each day you will feel better. Keep in touch.

Lynn

flabuless I am so jealous. My milk is dried up....and Rose really took to the bottle when she realized that she was getting so much more so fast....she had lost two pounds over the last two weeks. I am really sad....she is my last baby and I wanted to enjoy the cuddling and breast feeding longer. Oh well, as long as she is healthy most important thing.

Hey is this normal everybody.....banded five days ago, and I am hungry, and then I have this horrible sensation of something coming up from my gut and trying to escape through my chest and neck, and it is not fun!!! Am I swallowing wrong????

Hi Dawnae!! I started to feel hungry around day 4 or 5 because I was still on Clear Liquids. Once I could eat full liquids it wasn't as bad. I'm not sure what the sensation in your gut is...does it hurt?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
