I had my surgery on 1/15/13 I also has a hiatal hernia fixed. For some reason in the last couple of days I have been getting heart burn after everything that I eat. Is anyone else having this problem and also I am at a stahl on my weight loss I have lost about 20 lbs and have been stuck there for about a week or more. I am getting very frustrated. I would love to hear what everyone else thinks. Thank you!

Sorry to hear & sorry I can't relate. My surgery is on the 28th. Question, though - did you have any symptoms from the hernia before? Did fixing the hernia impact your recovery?

I have a slight hernia and I have been having lots of hunger like pains, and a feeling like food is always stuck in my throat...Really annoying mostly, but more of a concern that none of my doctors seem concerned that I have these symptoms involving my stomach going into my surgery. I would hate for it to complicate things. Conversely, if this is my hernia causing the symptoms and they will be fixed with the surgery, then great?

But no one seems to say that is the case...

Good luck.

As far as the heartburn goes, are you on antacid? My surgeon gave me a prescription strength antacid straight out of the hospital. I am still on it 10 weeks post-op. Stalls seem to be a normal part of this process. I majorly freaked out when I hit my first one. I was only 2 weeks out. Weeks 1 & 2 I had BIG losses on the scale. I was doing everything the doctor ordered & I did not lose even 1 lb weeks 3, 4 or 5! I had a true stall of 3 weeks. Week 6 the scale showed my weight going down again & I have had a loss (sometimes small, but still a loss) every week since then. It is going to take our bodies a long time to get used to this completely new way of life. Just stick to your NUT plan & you will be just fine! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
