December Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Oh my goodness girl!! You were pushing it a little hard. Get your banded butt in bed and rest. Make sure you keep eating and drinking because I know it is going to be hard when you feel like crap... but we don't want anything to happen to you. :-) Let us know how your doing.

I will be thinking about you.

Thanks beversman :nervous . I'm feeling sooo much better today! I'm staying in bed for the most part. I had cream of rice this morning (watered way down) and it went down fine. I just had half of a Protein Shake as well. The discomfort from the gas and incisions are almost gone :clap2: . I would say the first two days are the toughest, but the pain and discomfort eases up after that.

Hi all.

Im new to this. I was banded dec 4th at Lenox Hill in NYC and I have had no complications that I had worried so much about before. However my appetite is not satisfied with the 4oz maximum my doctor has me on. With lots of willpower and mind over matter I get full off of 6-8 oz. Hopefully with my fill my appetite will decrease. So far im loving it though. I weighed 312 at the time of surgery and now im 291...so im in weight loss heaven.

((((Steph))))

You have every right to be irritable. Don't push yourself too hard and give yourself some time to feel back to normal (both physically and mentally).

Thanks for asking about my dentist appt-it stunk today. only about 15 minutes or so but he didn't give me any novocaine as he was scraping out my root- WTF??? I mean, it wasn't off the wall pain since he had done most of the work last week but I had a couple of those pangs that felt like electric shock when he was in there. I would rather give birth again than have teeth work done. UGH.

I did great today on my self-inlficted pre-op diet. Protein shake for Breakfast, Soup for lunch, ww frozen meal (290 cals) for dinner. I may have a yogurt in a little while. All in all not much and I feel okay. We'll see how I am at the gym tomorrow morning. Can we really function on so little??? I think I am just accustomed to my 1700 or so cals a day I have been eating these past 2 months so it seems like a big drop.

Have a good night. biggest loser finale on tonight. I love that show.

~Kay

itsuptome....thank goodness your vision is back that would be so freaky, and scary....i would have freaked out too! What is this abdominal binder you speak of!!! That really sounds helpful. I think some of the pain is just from the fat of my stomach being heavy on the sutures!.....well and all the gas.....take it easy guys and good luck to those getting surgery today!

Man oh man! I will be leaving for the hospital in 6 hours. I have been cleaning for hours. The kitchen, living room, dining room and bathrooms are clean. I still need to clean MY room so that it is clean and inviting when I get home.

Haven't packed. My "driver" (Dad) isn't here. Still have to do something with my crazy hair. I am nervous and excited and ... WOW

TOMORROW! Think of me ladies. I won't be able to check in with you until Friday. But I'll be thinking about you!

I'm getting SO excited--only 6 more days!!! Now that I've been to all of my education and nutrition classes, shopped for my liquid diet, Vitamins, etc., and finished my pre-op visit, I'm just waiting to get this done! It's so hard to focus on anything else right now!

Hey Paula---I had surgery the same day. I agree, gas is a problem. I think it contributes to the soreness. I've been eating Jello, popsicles and Water all day. I'm not hungry either---but I'm ready for this gas to go away. Ouch!

Nat---best of luck with your surgery., You're gonna do fine. I wouldn't worry about my hair, they just stick it in a cap anyway.

Transformer--your day will be here before you know. I'll be thinking of you guys!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
