I'm very frustrated and discouraged right now. After surgery I lost 21 lbs after my 1st weigh in a week later. I just weighed myself and I GAINED 4 pounds!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not going over my calories so I don't know how this happened?!?!? Has this happened to anyone else??

YUP, it happened to me too (a few times in the last few months). Your body is adjusting, stay the course and follow what your NUT laid out and it will level out.

Do any of you gain a bit during 'that time if the month?' I had a hysterectomy years ago but still have my ovaries and have always still had a few days of bloating then a few nights of having to get up multi times to pee. I wonder if that contributes to these sudden gains even though we are on plan.

Angelamarie79, check out the statistics on my signature. I have passed my goal weight and am now concentrating on muscle growth to insure that Mr. Fats does not return.

Yes, it happened many times. Gaining, stalling, losing, gaining back, losing more, etc. In the long graph the trend was always downward. In short samplings, I looked like a failure many times. Doing the right things makes it inevitable that you will reach your goal.

Science is on your side, not infomercial science, the real McCoy.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
