Baby Food During Pureed Stage?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone here actually eaten baby food during the pureed stage? Not the meats or veggies - bleh. Just the fruits, like bananas and whatnot.

I haven't got to that stage yet but I have seen where people have posted that they have done that. I just don't know if I could eat it though. Good luck.

Have you ever tried baby food? It's nasty nasty nasty with a whole lot of crap and preservatives. It looks, smells and tastes bad. I have an 8 month year old and it's my last resort (for him). Besides from that, I was told no baby food as it doesn't have enough Protein. Make your own - will taste 1000 times better trust me!!

I'm keeping it as a last resort and don't plan to use it, just getting ideas. Lol... I have a 2 year old son and he never ate pre-packaged baby food, only fresh that we made.

If you don't want to deal with making it post surgery, make it before and freeze it! Then you can just thaw it out when you want to eat it. Easy. And you could probably make all you'd need within a couple hours in one day!

I LOVE banana baby food and did eat it post-op during puree stage. It went down great and helped me through a hard time, it's easy on the stomach...

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
