Where do you feel restriction?

Recommended Posts

I will be coming up on my one year anniversay of my band. My fills are free for the first year so I am trying to decide if I should get one more. My question is. Where do you feel your restriction? I feel it in my esophogus. It usually is in my first bite and after that goes down I can eat more. I can eat a lot more then I should. I dont want to get another fill if it will make my esphogus tighter. Sometimes I feel full. But mostly I stop because of the pain in my chest. Should I try one more and if it gets to tight I can get some taken out? I would really like to feel fullness and then stop eating. What do you think?

That's where I feel it too. It's almost as if the band is between my stomach and my esophagus. As far as getting another fill, are you happy with your current rate of loss? Are you on a plateau?

I have deffinitly hit a plateau. But I know it is because I am eating to much. Im sure a fill would help but I dont know if it would make my esophogus feel tighter. I really want to feel it in my stomach instead.

I think I feel it in my jaw. I am not sure because post op I had a lot of tight feeling in my jaw when ever I would eat. I had my first fill friday and today is the first time I got that feeling back. I also feel it in my stomach like I cant sit down because I have too much pressure in my rib area.

I think that is what i am feeling...

Look at it with the barium. If you are seeing the restriction and feeling it then I'd wait. If its moving right through then I'd consider it while its free. Yes they can always remove it!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
