I'd have adopted years ago, but my instinct tells me to leave the "children" subject alone. However, if a child/children landed in my lap, I'd snatch them up. For example, Rob's sister never wanted kids so she lived on birth control but then ended up raising Rob's baby (who is 10 now.) I always hoped that would happen to me - babies from heaven. I've been through too much stress and anxiety in my life to intentionally start something so intense as an adoption process. One of my closest friends is a family law attorney who keeps a constant eye out for an uncomplicated adoption. Ya never know.

Lisa, I don't think there is any such thing as a "noncomplicated adoption". Having kids (whether natural, adopted, step, etc.) will definitely increase your stress level. They aren't sweet little babies for very long. They will bring you the greatest joy that you have ever known, but they can also cut your heart deeper than you could ever imagine. I would gladly give my life for my sons, without a second thought. But there are times when you just can't beat your loyal, undemanding, always glad to see you, easy to satisfy puppies.

Kids themselves don't stress me out. Everyone says I was born to be a mom - my patience drives my kids nuts. Maybe because I work in a law firm... it's the whole legal mess that I avoid. That's why I hope the sky will open up one day and some kids will land. Then again, my heart falls apart when my fur baby gets a splinter in her foot. I'd be a wreck if I ever saw my own child in pain.

AWH- So sweet and sentimental sounding Lisa. I know what you mean though about wanting a child just to fall into your lap. Another fear I would have about getting pregnant is the weight gain part, ESPECIALLY if I get it all lost this time around. I don't know what I would do. LOL, Teresa

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.Β  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.Β  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❀️ Together, we got this!
