How much did you weigh and lose

Recommended Posts

... And what did you lose the first few months? I know everyone is different but I was trying to get a rough idea of how my own sleeve might work out if I stay kicking behind for the first six months or so :). I am 240 lbs right now and 5'5". Looking to get down to 150 at least. I will be a march sleever!

The day of my surgery I weighed 314lbs. At my 6 month mark I weighed 212lbs. I'm still losing weight, just a little bit slower. Hope this helps you :)

I was sleeved on January 11, 2013 - my starting pre-surgery weight was 273 - I'm 5'8" and I as of today am 235! Down 38 pounds! It's not easy though by any stretch of the word.

I am only a week post op tomorrow and started 2 lbs away from your weight preop (238). I lost 7lbs the week before the surgery on the preop diet and when I weighed myself this morning 6 days after surgery I was 223lbs. So in less than 2 weeks I've had a 14 lb weight loss. 150 is my goal too and I believe it's completely possible. Good luck on your journey!.

I have been sleeved 3 and a half months. I am 5'8" and my highest weight was 290. I have lost 53 pounds. It's kind of slow, but I don't mind as long as I am losing!

Started at 275 ... down 62lbs @ exactly 3 months out. For some weird reason I'm losing more at this stage than I did in the early weeks post op on full liquids!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
