HMR Meal Replacements

Recommended Posts

I love the HMR Meal Replacement shakes. There are 4 kinds: HMR 800, with 16 grams Protein per shake; HMR-500, with 10 grams Protein per shake; HMR-70+, which is lactose-free, can also be made into a pudding, and has 14 grams protein per shake, and another one which I don't use. They all come in chocolate or vanilla, but can be mixed with flavored liquids to change the flavors. They are available online at hmrprogram.net. I have been using these shakes for over 10 years to lose weight. I lost from 204 lb to 128 lb in 2003 and maintained the weight loss for over 5 years, as long as I stayed in the maintenance phase of the program. after I left the program in 2008 after moving away from Fort Worth, I began to gain weight, slowly at first.

By mid-2012, I had gained up to 165 lb, which was about half of the weight I had lost. That is when I decided to turn to bariatric surgery. I had the gastric sleeve on 12/19/12. My surgeon was Dr. David Kim. I am very pleased with the results I have seen so far. I have lost 18 lb in 6 weeks, which does not sound like much compared to what others are losing, but for me it is an accomplishment.

I continue to use the HMR Meal Replacement shakes since my surgery. They are delicious and are an easy and convenient way for me to get extra protein.

Just wondering, how on earth did you surgery approved at 165????

I was self-pay, so no insurance company was involved. I am short, 5' 2", so my BMI was about 31 or 32. I also have hypertension and hypercholesterolemia, as well as a strong family history of heart disease. I am grateful to the surgeon for allowing me to have the surgery, because I was failing at weight control, and I suspect that I would have been back at 204 lb or more, if I hadn't had the procedure.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
