Looking for SF Bay Area-CA Good Docs

Recommended Posts

:help: I need to find a good doc/hospital. I have looked at Valley Care in Pleasanton, Good Sam in San Jose and Mills Penninsula in Millbrae.

Please let me know if you have had any experience with them.

Thank you!

For getting your band? In Pleasanton you can call Drs. Lee and Estahkri. They operate out of Valleycare.

I used Dr. Feng at Laproscopic Associates of San Francisco. He is no longer with the practice but I see Dr. Cirangle there now. They have taken good care of me and their costs are really reasonable. If you go through them you would be operated on at California Pacific in San Francisco.

Dr. Robert McKeen at Good Sam in San Jose is excellent. He is available 24x7 for his patients. He is well trained and has performed thousands of bands. He is wonderful!

Which doctors practice out of Washington Hospital in Fremont?

Dr. Cirangle performed my surgery four years ago and is an excellent surgeon; however, his bedside manner is deplorable and because of that, I have neglected my care just to avoid seeing him. IMO, he is truly the most arrogant of doctors. I'm in the process of finding someone else who will do fills on me in Sacramento.

I just noticed your post bbypokins. Have you considered seeing Dr. Jossart instead? I've heard he's a "teddy bear" and a lot of people who don't like Cirangle, like him a lot. (I assume you paid some sort of fee for follow-up care and possibly aren't using it because of your dislike of Dr. Cirangle?)

Personally, I like Dr. C. so much I had him do my sleeve, but our personalities do mesh. You do need to see someone that you can related to because bariatric surgery is not like having your gallbladder out. The relationship is important. If you don't mesh with Dr. C, you need to find someone else or risk being less successful with your band.

If I get my surgery approved by my insurance(I'm currently on appeal), I will have it done with Peninsula Surgical Medical (with Dr. Sanchez). I heard very good things about them.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
