If you have a flu diagnosis from the doc you need Tamiflu. I had the flu over Christmas and I've never been so sick in my life. You need a prescription for the good stuff not OTC meds. Hope you feel better soon!!

I'm so miserable. My body hurts, I can't eat or drink much, and every time I talk medicine, I throw it back up.

I have so much to do tomorrow, FML.

My room mate got me sick, and he's been taking medicine and is pretty much all better now.

Well unfortunately Tamiflu has to be started within the first 48 hours of getting the flu so unless this just started and you can get to a dr and get started on it right away odds are it won't help. You might be able to get an antibiotic from your dr that would help, But mostly you will probably just have to get rest and keep yourself hydrated and nourished as best as possible. Good Luck.

I'm not a big fan of wasting my money on copays just to get a prescription. I took day and nquil, mucinex, clorasceptics, and made hot tatis. Started feeling better after 4 days.

Tamiflu is a waste of money. My experience is it was non preferred on my insurance, and made me feel worse. All it does is shorten the duration, not cure the flu. Rest and hydration are your best bet.

Not sure if this helps but the last time I had the flu was awhile ago. I took "Theraflu" it comes in a flavor and you add it to hot Water. It taste good and soothes. I thing it has Tylenol in it. Also Emergen-C packet have Vitamin c and a bunch of other good stuff in it. I swear by it. You can take 6 a day. I'd get antibiotics if its in your chest. I agree it's too late for tamiflu.

I hope you feel better soon.

Edit for hitting send too soon

I hope you feel better soon. I too had the flu last week and it had to be the worst ever. Most of the bad symptoms are gone today, but still dealing with cough and lower energy level. My doctor would not prescribe Tamiflu over the phone, so I hauled myself into the office. I had taken some tylenol before going, so my temp lowered. I did not have a high enough fever so he would not prescribe it. Argh! Let me tell you, my fever was plenty high over the next few days. I felt absolutely horrible for about a week. This week I am feeling better. I used mostly tylenol, alcaseltzer (sp?) cold and flu last week. I am using robbitusin (sp?) cough this week. I hope you feel better soon.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
