I agree...only weigh in once a week. I weigh myself early AM daily, but I only record my weight on my Wednesday weigh in. It helps keep me focused and feel like I am in control of the scale. Good luck!

Chinese food is notoriously high in sodium. It may be Water retention from that. I agree with the other person- don't weigh everyday. I had my husband hide my scale because I was addicted. LOL

I am addicted too. Just had an argument with my significant other too. He never wanted me to do the surgery in the first place. He said I was selfish because of the changes that had to be made to the diet. I just cant win!

He sounds like the selfish one for not wanting you to have surgery that will save your life. Pardon my french, but his priorties are really f***ed up. I would seriously be questioning that relationship.

He just loves to eat and he hates the fact that I can no longer eat all of the things that got me fat in the first place. For anyone who knows me, selfish is not in my vocabulary. I always do for others before I do for myself. The one thing I do for me is something I wont regret.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
