my initial surgery date was scheduled for feb-27 got changed to mar-6. im 6-1 340 45bmi. live in lake havasu az but getting the surgery in riverside, ca. with dr. krahn. today was my food funeral and i said goodbye to my best friend and enemy the burrito and it was quite the roller coaster relationship we had. it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. lol. starting the preop diet and exercise tomorrow. i think ive hit about every emotion the last couple weeks leading up to this but have to say im mostly excited ..... ok and anxious ;0)

Once March has came and gone,oh boy we will have a lot of stories to tell,,I'm praying for all success stories including speedy recovery

I am scheduled for March 1 in Mexico. I am 5' 4" and weigh 280 down from 284.4 so a lost of 4.4 lbs so far. I will be starting my pre-op diet on Feb 20th. I am really excited and nervous' date=' time is flying. Best wishes to everyone:)[/quote']

Where in Mexico? I'm with Dr. Alvarez just outside of Eagle Pass,Texas (cant remember the name lol)

I'm March 8th with Dr. Aceves in Mexico! Revision from band to sleeve! Super excited and a tad nervous! Wish it was now!! :)

My surgery is scheduled for March 7th. I tell everyone. But I always start with "I don't want to hear it, I'm doing it and thats that". I only have one friend who is so nervous for me. I love her dearly and I accept her concern. I just know that I have thought and thought and thought about it and I made the decision privatly and personaly. No one will change my mind or make me fill like its not a good choice. I know I would never be able to make it to my goal weight without this help. Thats why for me its part of my journey to tell people because I can't hide around it any more. I'm hoping that the honestly with myself will lead to permanate change. I know about 5 people who had the surgery and gained the weight back. I am doing this so I have a life change not a life struggle. I'm already struggling. I plan on this being the change I need for life. I don't want to gain the weight back.

I'm March 4th.with Dr. Almanza in Mexico ..I've been packed for 2mos.LOL that's how excited and anxious I am,this is something I have been wanting a long time..So I don't read any of the negative blogs only the postive posting I want my on experience, someone has there's let me be my own Judge..

@Jody..I told my boyfriend when you hear other women who always has something negative to say,its because they can't afford it or they to hypocritaly and don't know how to say wish it was me...or jus might be the one who never gain a pound has a high motabelisum...and don't get fat after having a babe ...

Hahahah!!! I love it. My siblings had it done years ago. I very much supported them because they were very overweight. I have always been athletic and kept my weight somewhat down. Still always being overweight though. Just not like the rest of my family. Parents died at 59 from being really overweight and having lots of problems related. My siblings however have put the weight back on and I prided myself in not ever "needing" the surgery to lose weight. Well hear I find myself in this situation. I have not seen under 200 in over 19 years. Its not getting better or easier. I want to be a runner but my weight is killing my knees and I just want to be healthy. I do NOT however want to be one that over time puts the weight back on. I have to change my way of thinking and my inner self. Its a journery spiritualy too.

Ok I have been wanting to ask this for a while and with everyone talking about it I have just got to ask now... My doctor' date=' surgeon or nutritionist did not mention any type of pre-op diet to me... All they said is I can't eat/ drink hours before surgery... Anyone else not have a pre-op diet... They also said people have had surgeries canceled for gaining weight before surgery and I should plan to lose 10lbs before surgery but nothing else.??[/quote']

Mys just said liquid diet 3 days before. Every doc has its thing. Good luck

I'm a March sleeve. Very Scared! I know that it will be for the best but I worry about all the what if's. My husband is not really on board with this. I feel like I need to do it for ME! I have read so much on here over the last few months but this is my first post. All of your posts have been so rewarding to read. Thanks for all the information! I look forward to sharing This journey with others!

Started pre op liquid diet today, I'm so pumped for the op and for the beginning of my new healthy life. No more blood presure tablets , no more squeaky knees. As my teenager would say bring it on donkey kong!

Hello..I am March 6th as well :). What kind of pre op diet are you on..I am just curious because everyone seems to have something different.. I am 3 weeks of liquids..and its tough..but the prize at the end is worth it..good luck to you

March 4th for me, it all worked out good so far. I asked my PCP in December for a referral, and was approved by my insurance in January. I start my pre-op liquid diet on Monday February 25th. It took my a long time to make up my mind Sleeve or RNY finally I decided the RNY was just to invasive and the Sleeve would be better for me, it sure felt good to finally make that decision.

Hi Jody, I am a March 7th sleever too and I can so relate to your post. I love to run as well. I started learning to run about two years ago, but of course the weight has kept me from it so I walk a lot of 5k's. My goal is to not be dead last as I have been due to my weight problems.

Good luck to both of us as we move on. Bring on the liquid diet in two days. Whoo Whoo
