Single Incision Sleeve

Recommended Posts

So, I just found out that Dr. Garcia does the single incision surgery!! I know that a few people have said the incisions aren't bad anyway, but for someone that doesn't want any this could be an option for you! :) just thought I'd relay the info!

I had a single incision and it was great. Only one incision in my belly button. Ive had my gall bladder out laproscopically so I know the maintenance and healing process of having the multiple incisions and Id choose single incision every time! Instead of being concerned with my insides healing AND my mulitple exterior incisions, I really only had to worry about my insides. My one incision was a piece of cake.

I'm guessing since mid November. Zenoosh posted late October stating that she had 3 incisions and that they were going to start doing single incisions in a few weeks, so that would have put it around then.

I talked to alma about single incision with Dr Garcia.... He does do it, BMI must be below 35 and its an extra $1000.

Correction... BMI has to be between 30-40. I just rechecked her email response to me.

Yes I remember when she posted that. I have been watching ever since but this was the first thing that I have seen on it. I didn't realize Dr. Garcia had a Facebook page. However, I'm afraid to hit like because my family doesn't know that I am going to Mexico yet. They know I'm having the surgery but not in Mexico.

Same here, I just check every so often. I liked some things today and had to hurry up And unlike them, remembering that everyone can see that. Oops.

And it's not worth the extra 1,000 for me. That's a REALLY nice treadmill or clothing as I lose , you know?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
