Other things done while VGS in Mexico

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of having my teeth whitened while in Mexico for my VGS. Did anyone else that had VGS done in Mexico have any other procedures or look into others?

I'm going to do a chemical peel. I'm a band to sleeve conversion and they keep you a few days longer to check for complications. That being said, I know I'll be bored after the first few days. So, chemical peel. Also, since I'm taking the time off to recover from VSG it's good timing to recover from this as well.

My coordinator is also the coordinator for a cosmetic surgeon, but I wasn't financially prepared for that so she took us to get Botox... Love it!

I would really like to have some dental work performed. I never inquired about it though. Has anyone has bridges or veneers done?

I was going to do whitening but it's actually much cheaper locally. How?

Being in Texas and my dads family is only 90 miles from the border they go across a LOT. In fact all of their dental work was done in MX. One uncle had implants put in- $1000. Which is about 1/5 of what it is here.

My mother is going with me next week and she will have dental work done but my coordinator at Dr. Ortiz office said that there's a dentist about 10 min away that will do her work.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
