Soup Concoctions?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

So in looking at what kind of Soup t make for lunch - i noticed I have a can of cream of potato soup and a can of chedder cheese soup.

Anyone ever mix the 2 to make a cheesey potato soup? :biggrin1:

Figure i should get creative since i dont think i can take cream of chicken soup for another 4 days. I'm ready for the baby food!!

I prefer Campbell Selects or split pea. Don't know if it's a cheat or not, but I add velveeta cheese since it melts to liquid. Don't like canned cheese Soup at all.

Congrats on your amazing loss thus far. Keep up the good work.

My favorite belly satisfying Soup after surgery was Campbell Selects Butternut Squash, it had teeeeeeeny pieces and I mean teeny, like rice teeny pieces of potato. I lived on that stuff and I still eat it a year later.

I was told not to use any creamed Soups. I buy vegetable broth or low sodium chicken broth and add tofu(tastes good), and vegetables and cook it for a long time. Then I add Mrs. Dash and I have a delicious and healthy Soup. Enjoy!!

I loved the cream of broccoli Soup or the broccoli cheese. My close favorite is Cambell's bacon & bean, which I had never tried until after surgery. Explore whats out there, you can find some great new stuff!

I make my cream Soups with half skim milk and half fat-free half and half. I have also started substituting some of the cheese for low-fat Velveeta in my potato cheese and broccoli cheese soups.

The only canned Soup I like is Tomato. Other than that, I make my own. My gumbo and chicken tortilla are broth-based.

I love soup!

Carlene, any chance you could upload your Soup recipes as an attachment to a post in this thread so anyone can get them?

Soniacan I have mixed those together to make a potatoe Soup but I went shy on the milk. Also, added shredded cheese, seasonings a can of sliced potatoes and some frozen veggies. Thank youuuuuuu I am tight until after 4pm so I will be going home to pull the cans out.

I can try. Never uploaded Word docs before, but it's worth a shot.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
