So, I have two questions that are on my mind tonight. Here we go...

1. When should the glue come off of my incision? I have one incision across my belly button, and I'm just itching to pick at it. I know that's gross! I just wonder, how long will it be there before it dissolves?

2. WHY do I feel like I can drink a ton of Water at once? I'm still on full liquids, and I honestly don't always know when to stop eating/drinking. Is my sleeve already expanding? Did my sleeve not work? Am I just a freak of nature? I'm worried! I've heard that once I start eating pureed and solid foods, I'll feel the restriction, but I'm afraid that I'm going to hurt myself on the liquids. I don't feel the need to vomit or anything--there's just no sensation.

Ok, thanks for the help!

Since you are at 12 days I would think you received exact directions on how much Fluid we are suppose to get in between 1-3 weeks. Do you have this info.

What do you mean by a tons of Water.

My doctor actually leaned his head against the wall and said "if you just follow directions you will do well".

If you don't have a guideline on liquid in the time frame you are in, please reply and I will look mine up.

The glue on your incision,...sorry, I don't know, maybe you can show someone in your life who has good common sense. I am not saying you don't have common sense, just saying people seeing it would be better.

I have received directions, and both my doctor/nutritionist have told me to continue sipping throughout the day. I'm just having a hard time knowing when I should stop. I definitely have friends with 'common sense'....I was just hoping for a more exact answer. No biggie.

The glue falls off and when I does the itch will stop... untill then leave it be its holding the incision closed.

As far as the drinking like I said I'm 9 days post op and I too do not feel restriction I was told that its normal but to just mentally force yourself to only take small sips because your tummy is like a babies tummy and you should think in the mindset that a baby would not chug down Water : ) I hope this helps

The itching means it's healing...can't answer about the glue because I just had bandaids & they came off in a few days. As far as the Water & drinking goes...I thought the same thing! Did my sleeve not work?...because I felt no restrictions & quiet honestly was ALWAYS hungry! But trust me...you WILL know when you over do it! I did Not receive any restrictions from my dr about how much to drink...just keep something with you & sip on it all the time! I was sleeved Dec. 17, & am now on reg food....NOW I feel the "full" signal...& if I miss it....it reminds me later with that "OMG, I ate too much!" feeling! This is all new to us, you just have to learn to listen to you body again, it will tell you when you've had enough...& if you miss it & eat too much....ask yourself "oK, when Should I have stopped?" & try to remember that next time! Good luck!

Takingcontrol--Thanks so much! That was a helpful response. At least I know I'm not alone in feeling like I can't feel the "full" signal! I appreciate it :D

Are u sleeve? If so u are like me he did say dont drink if your not thirst but the most important thing was getting Protein 60-70g. He also has me skipping puree and continue on liquid because I can dring normaly. If i did puree i could gain because ibcan drink more I had surgery on the 31 of dec.

The glue should come off 7-10 days if its edges look pink and it seems puffy go see you doctor. I did today he removed the glue over the infected incision. pus came out he added two sterile strips it felt much better hope this helps.

My glue fell off sometime in the second week. I called my office to see what to do for itching, they were no help. After Internet search I used an ice pack that covered my stomach and this helped a ton. Guess it kind of numbed it. Felt so good!

Leave the glue alone. It will come off when you are totally healed. I have never had bleeding or infection at my 5 incisions. I use menderma for the scars.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
