what's going on??

Recommended Posts

I had my 2nd fill last week, up to 2cc now in a 4cc band.

The first few days were rough because of swelling, so I was on liquids.

Then for about 3 days, I felt like I could eat 10 horses (sorry, carrots, I'm a vegetarian, lol).

The past 2 days, I have not been able to eat ANYTHING solid without PBing, so I was back on liquids.

I was also very nauseas this morning. But now I am starving and can eat again and want more.

WTF??? Anyone else go up and down like this?:)

Hi Ginger, I was banded on 8/24.........just 2 days after you. I got my 2nd fill today, and I still can't feel restriction!! Did you start with the PB's right away?? I'm supposed to be on liquids for 2 days, but I feel like I can eat anything!! I've never had restriction at all!

Surby...my doctor filled me too much and I pb'd the Water he gave me in his office, so he took some out. Then I was fine for a few days, then I started pb'ing when eating solids. Now I can eat again, but don't feel alot of restriction. I guess it is very difficult to get to that "perfect" point of restriction.

It really depends on the day. Some days I'm fine. Some days I have trouble with solids. Sometimes, I think I eat too fast.

The problem I am facing is that on the days when I can't eat solids, I go for the smoothies and softer foods, which are very high in calories. I need to find a happy medium.

Good luck with your fill. Sometimes it takes awhile to feel any restriction.

Ginger, not to get too personal, but is it possibly close to TOM time? I get so tight from about 3 days before until a couple of days after it starts that I can do nothing but liquids during that time.

I hear a lot of people saying what Susan did...so that may well be your problem.

Also a couple of days of liquid may not be enough if your stomach is especially tender, you may have freaked it out and caused it to swell again. I would give it a few days of TLC. Avoid the high cal shakes, but do liquids and mushies, soft veggies, avoid anything it has to work hard to process. Let it heal completely. Then if you still have problems eating, sounds like time to see the Dr.

I have recently had to stop eating my spicy hot food, they think it is what is giving me heartburn! Can't imagine that!!!!

Good Luck figuring this out...our bands can be a challenge to do that with!

Kat

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
