Hi Everyone!

I was sleeved 8 weeks ago this coming Thursday. I've had no problems with the sleeve or eating anything as I transitioned. What I have had almost since about a week after surgery is pain on the left side between the middle incision and the left incision. It runs long ways (up and down) and sometimes the most sensitive part moves slightly. It's a stabbing knife tearing burning kind of pain depending on how I move. and sometimes it goes straight through to my back. There are days where any kind of movement is really painful and other days where it isn't so bad. Again, my stomach has been fine. Most of the time the pain is as I said between the two incisions and almost at the waist line..at times above the waist line. When it's really bad, the skin is actually so sore and tender to the touch in that area that even pants or undies hurt. Bending down, forget it, twisting slightly, forget it.. getting in a car will take 5 minutes because it hurts so bad and is so sore.. I thought perhaps it was just a torn muscle from the surgery, but as I said it's been almost 8 weeks now! It got better right around Christmas and I had put some icy/hot gel on it and it seemed to ease it.. Not anymore.. it was fine from Christmas through to the end of last week. Over the weekend it got really bad agian. No clue why.... The doctor looks at me like I'm nuts.. presses on it (which only aggravates it) and says I don't feel anything.. they scheduled me for a CT Scan with the dye but that's not for another 2 weeks.

Anyone else have this or have any kind of clue what this could be? I'm getting frustrated and tired of it. I just thank god I have no problems with the sleeve or eating!!

Thanks!

I just saw my pcp today with a similar complaint. My big incision is on the right hand side and the pain had gotten better and then all of a sudden is worse. I can feel a big lump under there as well. I was sleeved 12/18. When I laid down and he touched it was fine but when I stood up then he could feel the lump but didn't think it was liver or stomach and thought it was my skin or that I had pulled a muscle. He said he pushed 2 inches in and wasn't getting anything. I just think that all of that stuff in there takes time to heal. Hope you feel better soon.

I forgot to tell you when I had pain initially I was told I could ice it for 20 min at a time. See if that helps at all.

Thank you for your replies! Is it bad for me to say I'm glad I'm not alone in this odd pain?? I'm just wondering why 8 weeks out this is still so panful? Ugh!!! No clue what I could have done this weekend to reaggravate it if it is a muscle.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
