... begins and ends today. I really want sauerkraut and pork!

Did anyone else have an "official" food funeral? An unintentional food funeral? No food funeral at all?

Tomorrow I begin my preop diet. I plan to focus on a very regimented and structured preop diet to maximize my efforts.

Wish me luck!

For about a week before my preop I ate things I knew I could maybe never eat again or at least it would be quite a while. Im 6 weeks post op now and can eat pretty much anything just not much of it at a time so i I eat my Protein first then veggies I didnt go through this to eat junk and be unhealthy still.I nhaven't tried anything sweet and really have no desire for it right now.

I did indeed have a food funeral. For a week or two after I scheduled my surgery, I also ate things that I knew I would likely either never eat again (because they're trigger foods for me) or at least not for a long time. I went from 238.8 the day of booking to around 245 and now I'm working on getting back down again before my surgery! doh.gif

You can do it! I need to drop about 50 lbs by March.

I lived a big part of my life as if every day was a food funeral, so I think by the time I actually booked the surgery it was just relief, so I didn't do one. HOWEVER. My surgery was originally supposed to be at the end of October and on the day of surgery my flight was cancelled and I couldn't get to Mexico due to Sandy. On THAT day, after starving myself on yogurt for 3 days combined with the HUGE disappointment of not having surgery that day, I did say screw it and ate some bad stuff. And it wasn't even GOOD bad stuff, it was DENNY's people. UGH. It was the closest thing to the airport and I was huuungry.

I guess that's sort of what I had today :(. I was just filled with a mix of overwhelming emotions. This is getting really real and there's no turning back now.

kinda sorta... I work in a convenience store and there were some new Snacks that I was really wanting to try but I had been resisting them, telling myself "oh you can have that later if you really want it" .. so the day before I started my diet, I just went ahead and tried them because I knew it would bother me not knowing what they tasted like.

Also I'm allowed salads right up until my 3 day liquid starts so I'm going to REALLY take advantage of that since it might be a while before my tummy can handle greens!

I love salad and veggies. Roasting some Brussels sprouts now.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
