All of my December sleevers...

Recommended Posts

I do pretty well with food. I hate the uncomfy overfull feeling so I stop when I'm satisfied. Jelly the Sleeve is not very tolerant of being overfull, so I just stop when I'm done. As far as what I eat... while I try to maintain Protein first, it doesn't always happen. I can murder a bag of doritos, so now I get an invididual bag, eat three or four and give the rest away. All I need is a taste and I am done.

I am 19 months out and still losing, but I know I don't lose a lb or an inch if I don't move my butt. If I plateau it is because I have not been working out. That said, I FINALLY hit 100lbs down over the weekend! Very exciting. My personal goal is 169 and I am just a few lbs from that number. My surgeon would like to see me around 145............I laugh every time I think of that because uh.... I'd like to see that too. It's taken me FOREVER to get to where I am, so I'm bound and determined to be happy with the loss I've achieved and keep working toward my non scale goals.

Hang in there, Dec Sleevers! We are all still on this journey!

Just remember not to compare youself to others as we all are different and our bodies work at different rates.

Thought I'd bump this thread to the top. It's been two years since we had our sleeves, and I'm wondering if anyone is still around? How are you all doing?

I'm doing great, and still so happy I had the sleeve! Down 165 pounds from my highest weight, but still have a few to go. Not sure if I'll ever make it, but not that worried about it anymore. Maybe I'll work the last few off in 2015.

Hi! Great job! Wow!

I was maintaining successfully until I had knee surgery. I gained 10 pounds and am working to get them off. I still eat about 4 oz of Protein and some veggies (still try to stay away from the carbs when I'm trying to lose). Like you, I am soooo thankful for my sleeve.

It will be interesting to see who replies to this and how everyone is doing. I don't get on here regularly anymore. I pretty much only get on when I see that someone has commented on something I subscribed to.

Thank you for reviving this and I'll follow it through!

I just had my two year check up. I'm down about 125 lbs. I have gained about 5 lbs in the last 6 months but they wanted me to. My BMI is 21.5 so I'm very happy. My labs were all normal and my relationship with food is healthier. I'm scheduled for abdominoplasty in 3 weeks. Best decision I've ever made.

Yep, that's how we do it. Congratulations on your loss, and getting back on track. It's a life long battle, for sure!

I joined this because I was sleeved 12/15. I lost 20 in weeks 1-2. Saw my nutritionist start of week 3. Have only lost one pound since then. I hit 4 weeks tomorrow and only lost a pound. Im starting to think I failed! I track everything I eat and am usually under 800 cal. Also mostly Protein. When will I lose again!!! I feel like my surgery didn't work.

First off this is 2012 December sleevers although you are more then welcomed here and second after your liquid phase your body is catching up to your rapid weight loss and adjusting to the changes allow your body time to catch up and it will start to lose again also take measurements to keep track when you're not losing weight you might be losing inches. track both.... Good luck to you. and FOLLOW YOUR DOCTOR'S ORDERS its important everyone who "claims" their sleeve failed them didn't follow doctor's orders and did what they wanted to do not what they were told to do.. Just some friendly advice.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
