All of my December sleevers...

Recommended Posts

I'm down only about 10 lbs and I was sleeved on the 17th. I get about 70g Protein a day plus Water. I've been walking and today I walked 2 3/4 miles in an hour...not my pre surgery best, but working towards it. As I've said on other threads, sometimes I wonder if my slow loss is due to my hypothyroidism. It's a little frustrating.

Sleeved on 12/5. Down about 22 pounds. Will get the official number after my one month post-op appointment on Thursday.

I too was sleeved 12/5. I was down 20 lbs but gained 2 and and have stalled since 12/21. I do see inches coming off but I wonder what my doctor will think when I see him on Thursday. 1st 2 Weeks loose 20 and second 2 weeks I gain 2. The three week stall seems to be holding on to me.

I was sleeved 12/3. I weighed 222 at surgery and have been stuck at 200.6-200.2 for the last week. Very frustrating to be so close to onederland, but I have read enough posts to understand that a stall in weeks 3-4 is common. I am going to be so glad to see 199. I just hope it happens by 1/4 - that would be nice. My weight before the liquid week was 229, so that would give me a 30 lb. total weight loss for the five weeks. Good job everyone and Happy New Year!

236 pre op; Surgery 12/10 and down 22 lbs!! I also seem to stall for a few days then drop some for a few days! Am looking forward to starting to exercise more - but I need to get more protien in which is a challenge since I cannot stand any type or brand of protien powder!! :( So getting it in with real food at only 1/2 cup at a time is hard! But I am perservering!! :D I give myself a pat on the back for surviving the holidays at work and families dinners without cheating; and not even really suffering for it!!! Biggest surprise? My BMI is now 35.44 which means In only .5 I would be ineligible for the surgery!!! Looking forward to "Onederland" myself - it has been 20 years!!!! :o

UPDATE: I stepped on to the scale this morning, resigned that it would still report my weight somewhere between 200.2 and 204, as it has for the last 7-10 days. Surprise!! 199.0 on January 2 and one day ahead of my personal goal of 30 lbs. lost in the five weeks between start of liquid diet and one month out from surgery.

I know it's silly in some ways, but to finally make a personal goal AND to be in onederland for the first time since I miserably starved myself down to 170 in 2002. THAT didn't last long...this will!!!

Start Weight in August 2012: 396

Surgery Morning Weight 12/13/2012: 367

Current Weight: 347

I am one pound shy from a 50# total loss, but that is only the first 25% towards my goal. The easiest 25%, I assume.

I took a week post op to lose the hospital weight, which was about 8 pounds. Things moved shockingly fast the next two weeks as I struggled to get any nourishment. I am still struggling to get enough Water and Protein daily.

I don't know what happened to my hospital weight - I weighed 257.5 at my first surgeon conference on December 11, then was sleeved last Friday the 28th. They took my weight the day after surgery and it was 267!! (Must be all the fluids and gas).

I'm going to assume my REAL surgery date weight was 257.5, and today 5 days out, my scales said 248.3 so about 9 pounds in less than a week I'm thrilled :).

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
