April 11! Confirmed!

Recommended Posts

I'm the first poster in this month, but hoping to meet others who are getting VGS in April 2013! I had a baby on Sept 19th, nursing up until the surgery, that's why it's planned do far in advance.

I have been heavy since I was about 8 years old and I'm tired of my self image stopping me from being the person I am on the inside. I have lost weight before using liquid only diet, but I feel that style of wl really makes it difficult to maintain. I'm ready to use the VGS as a tool I can maintain once I'm at goal.

I'm 5"4' and currently 230lbs. My heaviest weight was 251. I've been doing TurboFire and walking, but just not loosing weight, even with journaling my food. It's crazy and it's time to get some surgical help!

Looking forward to meeting my April 13 Sleevers!

Welcome! You are doing some great stuff to get you on the right path! The exercise will help your body be strong and ready to heal. I would go ahead and cut caffeine and really up Water intake as more ways to prepare your body for fast recovery. Time will pass before you know it and you will meet many having the surgery on the same day as you by the time you get there.

Spend this time looking at all the info you can. Learn and know the complication that can and do occur so you are sure you want to tackle this with a child so young. Notsaying you should not just saying know the risk and then decide what is best for you and yours.

Hello, I am an April 2013 sleever. Looking forward to sharing stories and providing support. Like you I have reached my heaviest, 250lbs. I can't believe it and I am fighting to get it off. I love to bake and cook, and it is the time of year for all of the above. However, lately, I have been using the NutriBullet, love it!!

I'm not confirmed yet, but I am hoping to be an April 2013 sleever. I've decided on VSG, but I need to do more research on post-op diet. After the holidays, I am going to make some more definite plans. My insurance doesn't cover WLS at all and I am going to self pay in Mexico. I'm glad that we'll have each other for support through this process.

Congrats and good luck. I'm an April sleever also, I'm excited!

VSG Vanderbilt Medical Ctr Dr Willie Melvin.

There's really good info on this sight that has helped me make final decisions and plans. I have found answers to questions that I've had about complications, leakage, Hair loss, etc. I've learned a lot of things that I didn't know at first. I'm looking forward to this life changing event. April is not coming fast enough because I can't wait to get off these medications and this sleep apnea machine

congrats, wishing you much success with the sleeve. I thought about getting the lap band in the beginning but there are so many discussions about the negatives of lap banding, that's why i chose the sleeve.

I'm ready to rock this sleeve!! I can't think about anything without wondering "what will this (insert activity or meal) be like after 4/11?"

I'm doing Turbofire and Chalean Extreme twice a week (trying for three times a week) and walking one mile a day with my kids/dog.

I'm going to do a two week Meal Replacement + lean green Snacks and then 2 weeks of high Protein liquid diet as my pre-op. I start that Feb 27!

I'm looking forward to sharing this journey and using this tool- it's not easy but it is simple!!

Hello fellow April Sleevers, I'm feeling a bit fustrated. I have been working on consuming more Protein via shakes and supplements. My NUT told me she doesn't want me drinking my calories, I'm confused because I was under the impression I would have to be on a liquid diet pre and post op. I was doing so well, getting natural raw nutrients and protein into my diet, now she has thrown me off. I felt great, now I'm confused. I don't like eating meat (I'm not a vegetarian), nor dairy....so, the shake is the best weight for me to obtain protein. Any suggestions? I am trying to lose weight prior to the surgery, so far no luck. :-(

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
