Sleeved after having baby

Recommended Posts

So I am having my second c section in march (first was an emergency).

My surgeon said I would be ok to get the sleeve in June.

Has anyone else been sleeved so close after having a baby!

I did 7 weeks after my csection! You should be fine 3 months out.

None. My husband works nights so I was on my own. It was hard but doable. Just find ways to limit lifting your kids for a couple of weeks. I would feed my little one while he was laying in his boppy pillow. Or I'd put pillows under my arms when I held him.

Ya I live in a condo with 3 storeys do that may be hard. I'm getting my fiancé to take two weeks off to help I think.

I was just sleeved last week and I have a six month old and a two year old. I was actually cleared for surgery as long as I wasn't breast feeing at 6 weeks post c-section. We decided to wait until after January so my husband would have more vacation time. He and my mom have been taking care of me because I really have needed the help. I've had a hard time bending and I'm not allowed to lift either boy. Two year old is 30 lbs and the baby is 17lbs. It's really rough but I know I'll be a much better mommy in the long run.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
