Banding in November

Recommended Posts

Who else are you waiting to hear from regarding fills? Eek! Let us know what happens.

How about trying this guy:

Romona Ramov

1080 Howe Street

Suite 505

Vancouver, BC

V6Z 2T1

Phone: 1 (604) 669 1633

His name was on the list of fill Dr's that mookie posted. It's worth a try.

And yeah, today is EXACTLY 30 weeks since my surgery. I am doing good now, and losing pretty steadily (for now). I don't know why, but I'm not gonna complain!

Ramona is a trained RN, and she's one of the one's I'm waiting to hear from. Also waiting to hear from Dr. Woodhead in Ladner.

Can you get a fill at 4 weeks (i.e. just before my trip)? I think I would rather have it done before hand if possible but I don't know if that's too soon or unheard of??

I wouldn't. I'd wait til you get back from your vacation. Lots of people feel nothing from their first fill, but you never know. You could be too tight (or become too tight) after your fill, and if you're out of the country, finding someone to do a de-fill could be difficult.

Yoda, Loriely, Wheezy, thank you so much for your warm welcomes....

This is great having the support outside of the clinic...

I can't wait. Still nervous, but I know this is the best thing I will ever have done for myself. Hubby is very excited too.

We are doing it a week apart from eachother, but hubby has to stay in the clinic over night. They want to charge him $500. He's got major sleep apnea, so I guess it's best they monitor him with the oxygen tank....Poor guy...But he will be so happy in the long run too.

I just have some questions about the fills......How simple is it to find the port? How long is the fill procedure?

Thanks so much for your support.

I will have to add the little "tickle" thing down on the bottom. I'm just very new at this so I don't know where to start. I know I have to go on tickle factory.com, but how do I export from that website to this web site????

Ciao for now.

Doriana...

Hugs to all!!!

Suns: I would highly advise against getting your fill before your trip; if something happens, you are SOL!!

Doriana: I had to also stay overnight at TLBC due to sleep apnea....I was actually quite happy to do so....I live 2 hrs north of TO so it was more convenient for me to stay over anyways. Mr Yoda merely stayed at a hotel down the road. Also, that way, I got to have a few pain shots through the night; which beat the demerol in pill form!

Yoda,

That's great to know. Hubby will feel better about it now..

How the heck do I add that ticker at the bottom? I just went on the web site, but it says to cut and paste? Where do I do that? Do I have to set up my profile on this board first?

Thanks again Yoda...

Where do you live? I'm in Woodbridge, Ontario... Just north of T.O...

Have a great day.

Hi Sunsreturn,

I had my first fill 2 months after my banding and it was fine. It meant that there was quite a bit of hunger the last few weeks before the fill, but it was doable. Enjoy your trip. I too will be in Europe this summer... let me know what I shouldn't miss.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
