I've been banded sience 1/2006 and almost met my goal of 150 but as i got closer to my goal I started to gain back I'm now at 164. I know it's not a huge gain but i'm sooo scared of gaining more. I've been doing everything i can to lose it again but to no avail. I can eat almost anything Pasta Bagels chips all that GOOD stuff? I think i want to get another fill but i'm worried about getting stuck on evrything. At one point about 2 months ago I was filled pretty good but started to have problems and Dr. Kwon completely unfilled me for 3 weeks and refilled me 2/3 of the previous amount. :help: :faint:

Perhaps some of what is going on with you is your head. To be at goal can be scary I'm sure. I know being close to it can be scary. Listen to Jacks advice and hang tight you can do this. Just step away from the bad stuff it really isn't GOOD!

GO back in your mind, every morning. Remember how excited you were to finally get the band...something that would really be a tool to help you lose. Remember how it felt to finally be getting the surgery that day. How fortunate you felt! Remember the promises you made to yourself to follow a strict diet of healthy, non-fat, not sugar loaded, un-starchy food. Imagine yourself reaching your goal weight and how it is going to feel, inside and out. VIsualize the way you will feel differently when you stand up, dance, make love, etc. You will be a feather. Picture yourself as the new you, the best you that you are deep down. Then thank your lap band for being the tool you have been given. Now, every day go through this visual ritual. Do it when you are just waking up, before your feet hit the floor. Revisit the idea while you are in the bathroom getting ready for your day. Role play in the mirror, pretending that you are talking to a new friend, explaining the benefits of lap band surgery, and what SHE must do to be successful. Set 1 day challenges for yourself to get back on track. Make sure to rid your environment of crappy foods. Repeat the visualization every night, and at night, thank yourself for being strong throughout the day. Even if you did not conquer all the temptations, you can start being more aware of your food environment and talk yourself into doing what you need to do. Don't hesitate to contact your WLS nutritionist for a follow up. Join a gym.

God bless! You can do it!!!!!!

I am getting banded Dec. 01 an currently weigh 215 (5'4"). My goal is 135.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
